Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
When you type a name or location into a search tool, the query goes to the outside provider that runs it. That company processes the request and returns the results. Our systems do not retain or record the terms you searched.
Messages and Contact Submissions
We may keep an email long enough to respond and maintain the related correspondence. Its contents stay within our organization unless disclosure is legally required.
Data We Gather Automatically
Each page request sends our servers routine technical information, including:
- The date and time of the page view
- Your device's assigned IP address
- The referring website, when one is available
- Your operating system and device category
- The browser name and version
- Pages viewed and the time spent on them
Cookies and Analytics
A cookie is a small file placed on a device. Cookies help measure which pages receive traffic and where a visit stops. Analytics companies aggregate this usage data into reports. You can disable cookies through browser settings, but some functions may then work differently.

No Criminal-Record Data on File
We do not keep, build, or sell a database of personal criminal histories. Linn County record access is instead routed to the sheriff, Oregon courts, Oregon State Police CJIS, and the Oregon Sex Offender Registry. This private resource is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is never compiled as a consumer report or an outside criminal record.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. A partner's privacy policy, retention rules, and sharing practices apply to information entered there. We cannot control those policies. Read the provider's terms before sending a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to sheriff pages, court portals, Oregon agencies, legal-aid organizations, or outside search services. Once you follow one, the destination's privacy policy controls the visit. Review that policy before providing personal information.
Some advertising providers use activity across multiple websites to select ads. That processing takes place within the provider's systems rather than ours.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be received by:
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and site performance
- Search partners processing queries submitted through their tools
- Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal order
- Advertising networks serving ads on the pages
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, commonly used safeguards protect the information we collect. No internet-connected service can be completely secure, however, so we cannot guarantee that a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
This resource is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from a person under 18. If we learn that a minor supplied such information, we will promptly remove it.
Your Data Rights
Privacy and consumer-protection laws may give you rights concerning personal data. Oregon Public Records Law, ORS 192.311 through 192.478, addresses records kept by public bodies. ORS 181A.220 through 181A.245 separately controls Oregon State Police disclosure of criminal-history information. Neither law makes this privately run site a public-record custodian. Depending on applicable law, you may:
- Opt out of specified forms of processing
- Request access to personal data we hold about you
- Ask that inaccurate information be corrected
- Seek deletion of your personal data
